Lead free lipstick options for pregnant women

Since becoming pregnant, you have switched to organic foods and stopped bleaching your teeth to prevent exposing your baby to harmful chemicals, but what about the chemicals in your lipstick? One group recently reported that 71 percent of tested lipsticks contained lead, which could be particularly harmful for pregnant woman and children. The Campaign for Safe Cosmetics reports that the lead in lipsticks is a health concern. “Lead is a proven neurotoxin that can cause learning and behavioral problems, and pregnant women and children are particularly vulnerable,” Stacy Malkan tells UPI.com.
