What to wear after baby
January 19, 2009
You are too small for your 3rd trimester maternity clothes (plus you are sick of them!), yet are nowhere near close to fitting in your pre-pregnancy skinny jeans. Find out what to wear in that transition period after baby.
Remember those clothes you wore in your first trimester? The under-the-belly jeans, drawstring pants and skirts with stretchy waistbands will all come in handy during that post-baby transition period. Jeans with a dark wash and bootcut design will be most flattering on your post-baby body.
Buying some solid-colored nursing tanks (if you are breastfeeding) or long layering tanks are perfect for wearing underneath those tops that don’t quite conceal all off your post-baby tummy. They are also perfect to provide your some coverage for v-neck tops.
Tops with a gathered hemline or loose fit around the tummy will be more flattering than tight-fitting tops. Look for blouses with a v-neckline or embellished neckline to draw the eye up and away from your midsection.
Wearing the right colors can instantly slim you. Monochromatic dressing (wearing all the same color, such as black pants and a black top) is both slimming and makes you appear taller. Avoid wearing prints or lighter colors on bottom.
