Post-baby style: How black and white slims your waist
March 21, 2009
Black and white clothes not only have that a certain elegance and sophistication about them, but, when worn correctly, can also be used to whittle your waistline.

How can you wear black and white to slim your post-baby body? Fashion director Cindy Weber Clearly gives InStyle magazine these black and white tips:
1. Everyone knows black conceals and white reveals- and that wide horizontal stripes won’t do you any favors at your widest part.
2. Did you know that black side panels will whittle your waist? Also, narrow stripes can minimize when contrasted with wider ones. Pictured is the Colorblock Silk Top with black side panels ($44) from Forever21.com.
3. Use patterns to your advantage. Balance wide hips with a print on top. If you’re petite, create the illusion of additional inches with vertical lines. An allover print with a diagonal drift works well for curvier figures.
