Dress to minimize big hips
January 16, 2009
It takes time to return to your pre-pregnant shape, and many women find that the two problem areas are their post-baby belly and hips. Find out tips to help slim and minimize your problem areas.
-Get rid of those high-waisted “mom jeans!” Nothing will make your hips and backside look bigger than this type of jean. Your best bet is a low-cut or hip hugger, boot-cut jean in a dark wash.
-Avoid wearing prints or light colors on your lower half. Wearing dark pants or dark jeans paired with a light or colorful top will instantly minimize your hips and draw the eye up.
-Avoid wearing pants or jeans that are too tight. Wear jeans that are not loose, but are also not so tight that every bulge shows.
-When buying jeans, opt for larger pockets over smaller pockets. Large pockets give the illusion of a smaller backside.
-A dress or top with a v-neckline will balance out your hips and draw the eye up.
