Pregnant women are advised not to whiten their teeth because the effect of the chemicals on the fetus is not known. This does not mean you have to settle for dingy, yellow teeth or smile close-lipped for nine months. Here are some all-natural alternatives to a brighter smile.

  • Make-up artist Bobbi Brown recommends avoiding lipsticks with orangey tones, and pick shades that are pink or rose to make your teeth appear whiter.
  • You know that morning cup of coffee you love so much? It can stain your teeth the same as it stains your coffee cup, so brush your teeth after drinking your java.
  • Tea and soda can also stain your teeth a dingy, yellow color. Try using a straw when drinking these beverages or brushing afterwards.

  • If you haven’t already, consider switching to an electric toothbrush to better clean your teeth of surface stains.
  • Did you know strawberries have a natural bleaching effect? Make a paste out of fresh strawberries and leave on for a couple of minutes and brush off. You not only have whiter teeth, but you slipped some Vitamin C into your diet!
