When should you buy maternity jeans?
August 4, 2007

Because a good pair of denim can be pricy, it is a good idea to buy maternity jeans early in your pregnancy so you get the most bang for your buck. You want jeans that will grow with you so they are not just hanging in your closet once you hit your third trimester.
Most jeans will either have an underbelly cut, which lets your belly grow unhindered, or stretchy panel that allows plenty of room for you belly. Details like a hidden drawstring or a stretchy waistband are also good features that ensure the jeans can be worn for months to come.
Bootcut is the most flattering cut for most women for its slimming and lengthening effect. A darker wash denim is also more figure-friendly then a lighter wash. Many jeans now are also made with the ultra-comfortable stretch material.
As far as style goes, many of the top designers including Paige Premium, Seven and Citizens of Humanity, have all got a hip line of maternity jeans. One good choice is the Paige Premium’s Robertson Maternity jeans (pictured). This jean has a front panel (that can be folded down), as well as a flattering bootcut design and great details on the pocket.

Those are some slick jeans you found. If I was preggers I would hit them pretty quickly. I like the color, they’re nice and dark but don’t look stuffy.
