Going to see your OBGYN when you are pregnant is a frequent occurrence, so it helps to know what to wear to make that appointment as painless and as easy as possible.

Let’s start with what you should NOT wear – namely all-in-one jumpers which will require you to completely disrobe and wear a not-so-fun hospital gown. Dresses are also a bit difficult, unless you don’t mind hiking them up (sometimes all the way to your chest so they can measure your belly) during the exam. My advice is to save the Maxi dress for another day.

A better choice would be separates so you just have to disrobe your bottom and not your top. Casual pants and a cotton top (such as the Old Navy outfit, pictured) or a top paired with a cute skirt are both good choices.

Make sure the top you are wearing can be easily pulled up to expose your entire belly. Avoid wearing silk or other fabrics that can be stained by the ultrasound gel.
