Transition your summer maternity wardrobe into fall
August 7, 2012
If your pregnancy will stretch into the cooler fall months, you may be wondering how to transition your wardrobe into fall. Many of your summer pieces, such as tank tops, sundresses or short sleeve tunic tops, can easily be transitioning to cooler weather just through buying a few layering pieces.
Embellished and printed tanks were a huge trend this summer – and you don’t have to pack them away just because the weather is cooling down! Pick up lightweight layering cardigans in black and tan to layer over strapless tops or tank tops to keep you warm when the weather cools down. One great option is the pictured Loved By Heidi Klum Batwing Maternity Cardigan ($45).
A cropped denim jacket is a perfect choice to wear with a sleeveless maxi dress or tank top. You don’t have to buy “maternity” jean jacket so you can continue to wear this jacket long after baby is born.
Don’t pack away your sundresses or summer tunic tops just yet! Layer opaque leggings underneath and pair with chic booties for the perfect fall look. Pair that flowy tunic top you wore all summer with leggings or dark jeans and wear a belt under your bump for a stylish fall look.
Lightweight summer sweaters are the perfect option when the nights get chilly. Look for colorful knit tops that can be paired with jeans and long maxi skirts.
A cool printed scarf is the perfect way to winterize a white tee or tank top. Wear it knotted around your neck and pair it with a cardigan or jean jacket and jeans or a long skirt.
