Transition pieces: Fall to winter
September 4, 2008
As summer winds down and fall winds up, many pregnant mamas are searching for clothes they can wear now and later as the temperature takes a big dip. Let’s face it — we are all watching our budget and need clothes that can do double duty!
Look for clothes that can be layered. Dresses that feature details like pleats or empire-waists will grow with you and can be worn with a cardigan or jacket to keep you warm. Leggings can be worn underneath to give you even more versatility. Pictured is the Pleated Smock Dress (on sale from $88 to $59) from BabyStyle.com.
Tweed gauchos are another perfect fall-to-winter transition piece. Pair them with a short-sleeved top while the weather is still warm, and switch to a sweater as winter approaches.
Your favorite sleeveless tunic top can easily be winterized by pairing it with leggings or even with jeans and a coordinating cardigan.
