Forget about floor-length gowns, brightly colored frocks or massive jewels, the real fashion trend of the 2008 Academy Awards was a beautiful baby bump.
Cate Blanchett, who was nominated for best actress and best supporting actress, dressed her bump in a sapphire blue Dries Van Noten gown. The empire-waist gown framed her bump beautifully, and the elaborate Lorraine Schwartz necklace gave her a dramatic Oscar-worthy look.

It was hard to notice Nicole Kidman’s growing bump for all the diamonds (7,645 to be exact) draped around her neck. The actress, who is 5 months pregnant, wore a black Balenciaga gown with an 1,399-caret diamond necklace.
