February 12, 2009
How can you look stylish and polished at work, while staying within your budget? Follow our tips for to help you stretch your maternity clothes dollar.
Don’t buy all your maternity work clothes at once: You won’t know exactly how your body will change. In your first trimester, you can probably get away with wearing your normal pants and empire-waist tops.
Pants: Your second trimester is a good time to buy pants and/or skirts. Look for maternity pants with a panel and made with a hint of stretch to ensure their comfort and wearability throughout your pregnancy. I would recommend spending more of your money on pants since they will need to hold up well throughout your pregnancy.
Tops: Mix up your work wardrobe with a hip and stylish wrap top, empire waist tops and bump-hugging looks. Have fun with the newest trends by buying some stylish pieces, such as ruffle tops and prints. Shop for deals by looking online at budget-friendly, yet stylish maternity stores such as Gap.com, OldNavy.com and MimiMaternity.com.
Dress: Buying a couple of well-fittng dresses are a great investment for your maternity wardrobe. Look for dresses you can wear both at work and those that can be dressed down for wear on more casual occasions.
