Boston Legal actress Julie Bowen, now a mother to 8-month-old Oliver, talks to The Cradle about her pregnancy must-haves.
Because she was in the public eye, Bowen says she did feel pressure to stay stylish while pregnant. “It was tough sometimes to go to work and have to deal with wardrobe. I just wanted to wear my super-comfy pregnancy jeans, but playing a lawyer, I needed much more tailored clothing which I grew out of weekly!”
The former Ed actress says that her maternity must-haves include the Liz Lange black wrap sweater and the Bella Band $25). “Absolutely crucial,” she says. The Liz Lange wrap sweater is no longer available, but check out the Black Wrap Sweater by Zero 2 Nine ($34) available at postmaternity.com.
As far as baby books, she recommends Becoming Baby Wise, The Happiest Baby on the Block and Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child. “They are all so radically diverse. the truth lies somewhere in the middle.”
I think that is good advice! Read the books, follow the general principals but rely on your mommy instinct as when to waver on their “rules.”
