How to layer your spring wardrobe
April 24, 2008

Are you dying to wear your cute floral-print sundress, but the weather is a few degrees too cold to make it practical? Here are a few options that will allow you to wear you spaghetti strap sundress or tank top without feeling the chill.
A short shrug is a stylish choice because it keeps your shoulders and arms warm and you don’t have to worry about your belly outgrowing it. Pick a shrug in a neutral color, such as white or taupe, to make it versatile enough to go with a variety of outfits. Shrugs also get bonus points for being able to wear post-baby! Pictured is the Ruffled V-neck Shrug in mochaccino ($54.50) from Gap Maternity.
Another stylish option to take the chill off is a buttoned-front cardigan. Layer a non-maternity cardigan in a coordinating color over your sundress and just button the top two or three buttons, letting your tummy peek through. Just like the shrug, the cardigan can be worn after baby is born. Check out the Two-Pocket Cardigan ($34.50) from Gap.
Blazers are hot this season making them the perfect layering piece. Play around with fun fabrics and colors to spice up your spring wardrobe.
