How to buy casual maternity clothes
January 17, 2009
Are you looking for hip, yet comfortable, casual maternity clothes? Find out what essentials will let you kick back in style.
A cool pair of cotton cargo pants will keep you casual and stylish. Trust me, these will be your go-to pants throughout your pregnancy and beyond. Don’t get me wrong — I love designer denim, but it is hard to beat the comfort of cotton pants. The No Panel Roll-Up Pant ($68) from Gap Maternity is a great option.
Speaking of jeans, a hip pair of denim is a maternity must-have. Try on jeans to find out the most comfortable panel (full panel, mid-panel or no panel) for you. In general, a boot-cut dark wash jean is more slimming than a tapered ankle, light wash jean.
It is hard to beat a cute dress for its style and comfort. Look for a dress in jersey material or a silky rayon blend, which tend to flatter your pregnancy curves best. Dresses that hit just below the knee will be the most comfortable. Details such as shirring and a tie sash allow for a perfect fit throughout your pregnancy.
