How to build a hip maternity wardrobe
March 10, 2009
Are you wanting to build a hip maternity wardrobe that is as stylish as your pre-pregnant attire? Find out how to look like the coolest mom-to-be on the block.

Start with the basics: Stock up on solid color, well-fitting tops, pants and jeans and use accessories to up their cool factor. The safari trend is huge right now, so accessorize your white tee and jeans with a chuncky wooden bracelet and beaded necklace.
Dresses: Hip moms Angelina Jolie and Nicole Richie both wore long maxi dresses throughout their pregnancies. Not only are they flattering to your pregnancy curves, but they are ultra-comfortable.
Shoes: How can you mix comfort and fashion with shoes? If it is winter, pull on a cool pair of flat leather boots with your jeans or skirts. During the warmer months, it is hard to beat metallic flats, gladiator sandals or good ole’ flip flops. They never go out of style. You can dress up flip flops by looking for those made of leather or, for a little bling, embellished with jewels.
Designer duds: If you are a mama who loves designer clothes, you are in luck. Many designers have gotten on the maternity bandwagon to create stylish lines for the hip pregnant woman. From designer denim, such as Seven for all Mankind, Habitual and Joe’s Jeans, to Juicy Couture you will love dressing your pregnant bod in these hip fashions.
