Congratulations! You are pregnant and, if you are like most women, are anxious to run out and buy every cute maternity outfit your see….but should you? Find out maternity clothes shopping Dos and Don’ts.

Some women do not even start to show until they are into their 2nd trimester, but if you find your pre-pregnant clothes getting a little snug, follow our 1st trimester tips:

Do go through your existing wardrobe and continue to wear your empire-waist tops, maxi dresses and pants and/or skirts with a stretchy waistband or drawstring pants.

Don’t just buy oversize clothes or start wearing your husband’s baggy shirts. You will only look big, not pregnant.

Do look for figure-hugging tops that are cut longer to show off your bump, while keeping your covered.

Don’t walk around with your jeans or pants unbuttoned. Pick up a Bella Band to extend the life of your normal jeans and pants.
