Pregnant celebrities like Kourtney Kardashian and Reese Witherspoon always look chic and pulled together. What is their secret? Emmy Award-Winning stylist David Zyla, who is the author of The Color of Style, reveals how you can get that chic celebrity style on a budget.

Zyla tells us that many celebrities don’t wear only “maternity” clothes, but they incorporate trendy non-maternity pieces into their everyday wardrobe.

“The trick here is to incorporate casual non-maternity over-pieces into the wardrobe, purchased a size larger than your non-maternity one,” he says. “Asymmetrical vests, coats and sweaters in interesting textures give basic tops and leggings the ultra-chic Hollywood flair.”

Black leggings are a great addition to your maternity wardrobe, however give it that extra celebrity flair with chic Ikat leggings from ASOS for $36.

For a pulled together look, don’t forget the accessories!

“These ladies understand that a bump is almost like an additional accessory and balance it accordingly with slightly larger accessories such as purses, bangles and earrings,” suggests Zyla. “This is the time to put the emphasis on the accessories. Splurge on the infinity scarf that you have had your eye on or the tote that has finally gone on sale.”

We are always impressed how good pregnant celebs look in their third trimester. What is their secret? “The best clothes for the third trimester are simple ones: solid colored empire waist dresses and tunics with leggings,” says Zyla.

Why would we even consider celebrities’ maternity style tips when we know their bodies are almost perfect and they have the budget to wear what they want? Well if your body is as slim as theirs who are in the modeling industry of showbiz, then buying regular clothes 2 sizes bigger is the way to do it. But that is not how the average pregnant women’s body develop in pregnancy all across the globe. The best is to make sure you buy pieces that you can still wear even after pregnancy, find really good stretchable fabrics and put your attention to the form and construction. In UK we have a few who offers such clothes: http://www.mamaway.co.uk, mothercare.com, and choo-choo-london.com.
