Whether you want them trendy, expressive or basic, maternity tees are an essential wardrobe staple when you are expecting. Here are 3 fun maternity tee options that won’t break the bank.

Trendy: For a look that is trendy, but timeless, layer the Gap Maternity Ruffle Yoke T ($28) on top of a solid long-sleeve tee. Pair this hip look with jeans and a scarf knotted around you neck. You can find this entire look, pictured, at Gap.com.

Basic: It is hard to beat the sexy look of a plain white tee and your favorite jeans, just ask Jennifer Aniston. Look for a flattering v-neckline and a tee that is made of stretch jersey and one that is cut long enough to cover your tummy throughout pregnancy. My pick is the Short-Sleeved Maternity V-Neck T (2 for $12.50) from Gap.com.

Graphic: Let’s face it, when else can you get away with wearing a shirt that says, “Knocked up?” Have fun with your expecting status by letting your tee do the talking for you. You will love the flattering cut, the vintage fabric and sassy sayings of 2 Chix tees. Some of my favorite include, “With Bump Not Plump,” “Haute Mama,” and “What’s Kickin.”
