November 16, 2009
From baby shower pictures to the family get -togethers, you can expect to be in a lot of pictures when you are pregnant. Follow our tips for a Facebook-worthy photo every time.
Clothes
1. Stick to bump-hugging clothes that accentuate your new shape. Oversized or bulky clothes will only make you look big instead of pregnant.
2. Forgo large bold prints and stick to solids or a small print.
3. Go for a v-neckline — it helps slim your face and flatters your pregnancy cleavage.
4. In general, dark colors are slimming and light colors highlight. Use this to your advantage by wearing dark colors on those areas you want to minimize (your bottom half, for example).
Hair

2. Don’t overuse hair product — you want a natural look, not stiff and unnatural.
3. Ask your hairstyles for face-framing highlights for a beautiful and natural look.
Makeup
1. Use powder to reduce shine on your forehead and cheeks.
2. Are you struggling with pregnancy-related skin discoloration? Go to a respected make-up counter to get a concealer that will hide the dark patches.
3. Add a pop of color to the apples of your cheeks and a flattering shade of lip gloss.
4. Did you know you can use make-up to help slenderize your face? Find out how here.
Angle:
1. According to an article on SheKnows.com, make sure the photographer is shooting slightly above your eye line to slim your face and to avoid the dreaded double chin look.
2. Usually a side angle shot is more flattering that straight-on, so tilt your head to the side.
3. Don’t forget to get profile shots of your beautiful belly!

Pregnancy beauty tip: Eyebrow grooming
August 18, 2009
A well-groomed eyebrow helps define your face, and can help your eyes appear bigger and your nose appear smaller! Here are a few tips to get you started:

Arch advice: Should you pluck a soft arch or a more defined arch? Brow guru Damone Roberts told InStyle magazine one rule of thumb: The more angular your face, the softer your arch should be. If you have a round face (or develop one by the third trimester of pregnancy!) a sharper arch will slim and lengthen your face.
Eyebrow color: Go for a natural look. Roberts recommends going 2 shades lighter if you have dark hair, and only one shade darker if you have blond or red hair.
Spacing tips: How much space should you have between your brows? Roberts advises no more than 1 1/2 inches apart, otherwise a too wide gap makes your eyes appear smaller and your nose appear larger.

Can you color your hair during pregnancy?
May 12, 2009
Is it safe to color your hair during pregnancy? Experts say that very little hair color is absorbed through the skin therefore it is safe. That said, it is better to err on the side of caution. Find out tips on safely coloring your hair during pregnancy.

According to pregnancyandbaby.com, although little chemicals are actually absorbed through your skin, hormone levels could cause your hair color to turn out differently than expected. What does this mean for you? Go for subtle highlights versus an extreme all over color.
Dr. Eileen Krim recently told InStyle magazine she recommends waiting until your second trimester to get your hair colored to avoid exposing your fetus to unnecessary chemicals.
She also recommends scheduling your hair appointment when your salon is not busy to avoid inhaling fumes. Highlights may be a better choice than all-over color because the chemicals are applied on the hair away from the scalp and result in less dye being absorbed into your skin.
Do you color your own hair? Krim recommends waiting until the third trimester. She says to work in a “well-ventilated area and wear gloves.”

How to apply face bronzer
May 3, 2009
You don’t want to bake in the sun and using self-tanners is a no-no during pregnancy — so how do you get that bronzed look? Find out how to get that sunny glow with bronzer.

Celebrity makeup artist Mally Roncal gave these makeup tips to InStyle.com:
“Apply bronzer around the outside of your face, sculpting around the features. Then add a soft peachy, tawny blush that has a hint of gold to the apple of your cheeks. You always need a little hint of color on the apple to get this natural glow – using only a bronzer will make you look flat.”
She recommends you use a larger brush for the bronzer and a smaller brush for the blush and make sure you blend well.
