nancy.jpgAccess Hollywood host Nancy O’Dell, mom to 9-week-old daughter Ashby Grace, reveals the secret to losing 24 of her 30 lbs. of baby weight—breastfeeding!

“Breastfeeding is the best diet,” she tells People. “Plus, I want to eat healthy for her, so it’s easy to say no to pizza.”

For us mere mortals, that kind of weight loss is fast but there is no doubt that breastfeeding is healthy for mom and for baby.

O’Dell also credits a healthy diet and Lisa Rinna’s trainer for her postpartum body. She loads up on lean protein, vegetables and fruit, and avoids milk, cheese, tomatoes and garlic because, “Ashby gets an upset stomach.”

She reports she started working out with a trainer four weeks after giving birth focusing on “ballet and dance movements for an hour three times a week.” O’Dell says of the workout: “It’s great, because you work out every muscle but it’s not strenuous.”

Many doctors advise waiting 6 weeks after giving birth before starting a workout, so talk with your doc before starting a workout. I write this article because I think it is fun to see how celebrities lose the weight, but please remember that they get paid to get back in shape fast. Lucky for us, we get more time to get our bodies back in shape.
