Petite maternity tips
April 8, 2008

The fashion industry considers those 5 feet 4 inches or shorter “petite.” If you are like the 55% of all Americans that have this label, follow these tips to make the most of your petite figure when you are dressing-for-two.
Wearing all one color from head-to-toe is a great way to help lengthen your short stature. Wearing all-black is a stylish (and slimming!) option; however you can mix it up through wearing tan or white.
Look for clothes labeled “petite” to avoid making annoying trips to the tailor. These clothes are cut to be proportionate to your frame through details such as shorter sleeves, hemlines and inseams.
Wearing oversize and ill-fitting clothes is never a good look. Look for clothes that gently hug your growing belly for a sexy and stylish look.
Many online maternity sites, such as Bellablumaternity.com, have an entire section devoted to “petites.” Pictured is the Mayreau Cheyne Dress in Aloe.
