Although mom-to-be Jessica Alba wore a customized Marchesa dress to the Oscar’s this year, you can get a replica of her dress for a fraction of the price.
Don’t be surprised if you are mistaken for Alba in this plum Feathered Dress by Faviana. It features an empire-waist and a beautiful feathered bodice and retails for $318.
The actress saw the original dress during the Marechesa runway show and she had her designer alter it for her. “She didn’t want embroidery,” Marchesa’s head designer Georgina Chapman told Instyle magazine. “We used ostrich feathers.” They also added a built-in bra and changed the draping of the dress. “We decided to make it symmetrical because it was a bit constricting on her belly.”
“I thought it was comfortable and flattering,” Alba gushed. “It would be nice to show my baby, ‘This is what Mommy wore to the Oscars!’”
