Top 5 pregnancy fashion mistakes
August 26, 2007

You have just found out you are pregnant and can’t wait to get out and buy some maternity clothes. Before you shop till’ you drop, here are the 5 maternity fashion mistakes to avoid:
1. Buying clothes that are too big: Being pregnant no longer means you have to wear a muu-muu. Buy a couple of form fitting tanks, a figure-hugging wrap dress and a feminine empire-waist top to show off your new curves.
2. Buying all your maternity bras at once: Your breasts in your first trimester will not be the same breasts in your third trimester. Buy one bra around 8-12 weeks and another maternity/nursing bra late in your second trimester or early third trimester.
3. Waiting too long to buy maternity clothes: Buy clothes once your normal clothes start feeling tight. You will be more comfortable and get more wear out of your maternity clothes.
4. Not buying a fun graphic tee: When else can you get away with wearing a shirt that says, “No Drinking, No Smoking, No Sushi?”
5. Spending too much on maternity clothes: You can only wear maternity clothes for a short period of time. You will want to invest in a few good pieces (pants, jeans), but you can also find some great bargains by watching for sales, shopping online, going to consignment stores and/or borrowing maternity clothes from a friend. You can find some great pieces at budget prices by shopping Liz Lange’s line at Target stores.
Got something to say?
