Bed Rest Fashions: Cute and cozy loungewear
February 26, 2008

Being on bedrest does not mean you are sentenced to wearing your oversized pj’s or worn-out t-shirts. In fact, you will feel better if you spend that time in clothes that are comfortable and stylish.
A velour track suit, such as the Juicy Maternity Tracksuit, is great because it allows you to lounge in style. The pants are non-constricting and the hoodie is lightweight. Layer a Cami underneath so you can remove the hoodie to allow for the inevitable pregnancy-induced hot flashes.
Gauchos are also a bed-rest wardrobe essential because they feel like pajamas but don’t look like pajamas. Pair them with a cute cotton tank for a lovely loungewear look. Pictured is the Maternity Shirred Roll-Panel Gauchos ($16.50) available at Old Navy.
If pants seem too constricting, consider throwing on a soft jersey skirt. Look for a stretchy waistband or a skirt that is specifically labeled “maternity” to allow plenty of room for your growing belly. The Maternity Flared Knit Skirt ($16.50) from Old Navy is a great style and a great buy.
A light-weight sundress can also be comfortable bedrest wear and may help perk you up when the days feel long. Look for a bright, colorful dress made that is soft and long enough so you don’t feel too exposed.
If you have been or currently are on bedrest, what clothes do you recommend that are comfortable, yet attractive?
