Pregnant Ashley Jensen in floral silk dress

September 28, 2009

Accidentally on Purpose star Ashley Jensen looked fabulous in a floral babydoll dress at the premiere of The Invention of Lying.

Jensen, 40, is expecting her first child in October and says fellow moms Rebecca Romijn and Jenna Elfman have been giving her plenty of baby advice.

“Rebecca [Romijn] sends me a body pillow that I can lie in. We have to have specific pillows to hold ourselves in place when you’re sleeping,” Jensen tells People’s Celebrity Baby Blog. “Jerry O’Connell called it the husband blocker. It’s like seven feet long and curls around. It’s the husband blocker.”

Jensen looked fabulous wearing A Pea in the Pod’s 3/4 Sleeve Babydoll Maternity Dress in Blurred Floral ($200). This scoopneck silk dress would look great paired with black opaque hose and black heels. What a perfect baby shower dress!

How did the mom-to-be prepare for the event when she is due to give birth next month?

“Thank goodness they have maternity stores now,” Jensen reports. “It’s a little but more painful than it normally is. And you can’t find your hips to put your hands on your hips. Your feet get a little sorer. Your back gets a little bit sorer. I’m kind of like, ‘Where do I put my hands? I don’t know where to put my hands!’”

They’re designed in such a way that they are flattering from when you’re barely showing, up until the last day of your pregnancy.”

These versatile dresses would be perfect for a baby shower, work or paired with flats for a casual look.

“It wasn’t really hard for me, but it was hard for the woman that designed a dress for me,” Klum told People.com. “She started about two or three months ago and that’s kind of difficult…It’s black because I figure, at eight-and-a-half months, black is better! Pregnant Kourtney Kardashian: Fabulous in fringe

September 20, 2009

Pregnant reality star Kourtney Kardashian looks fabulous in this long fringe jacket, black top and knee-high suede boots.

Fringe may not be for your, but seeing the stylish Kourtney is a good reminder to stick to your own personal style when you are pregnant. Love tailored pieces before you got pregnant? Guess what? You can still wear tailored pieces now that you are pregnant! The same goes for the bohemian look, animal prints or fringe!

Love Kourtney’s fringe jacket? You don’t have to stick to “maternity” when shopping for cardigan or jackets that button in the front. The Fringe Vest from Guess (Guess.com) would look perfect with jeans or black pants and simply layer a black cami underneath and leave it unbuttoned as your belly grows.

How to buy plus size maternity jeans

September 20, 2009

How can you find plus size maternity jeans that are stylish and comfortable? Follow these tips:
plus-size-maternity-jeans
Wash: Stick to a darker wash that is more slimming than a light wash

Cut: It is hard to pull off a tapered leg jean, especially when pregnant. Look for a boot-cut jean that helps balance our your baby bump and fuller figure.

Panel: You will find maternity jeans with no panel, mid-panel, full panel and rollover panel. Your best bet is to go to a store to try on jeans with the different panels to find the one that is most comfortable to you. If you still aren’t sure, choose the rollover panel that gives you the option to pull up over the belly or roll down under your belly.

Versatile jeans: Stick to jeans that have elastic or side buttons around the waist to further allow you to adjust your jeans as your belly grows.
