1st trimester party dress tips

November 23, 2008

If you are in your 1st trimester or early 2nd trimester, finding that perfect holiday party dress to flatter your changing body can be as easy as knowing these simple tips.

Even though most women aren’t quite showing yet, you still may feel a bit bloated around the tummy. Look for dresses that minimize your mid-section while playing up other features — such as your new pregnancy cleavage!

A v-neck dress is the perfect cut to highlight your cleavage and your shoulders and arms. Forgo the figure-hugging dresses (who wants to try to hold their tummy in all night?) and instead look for empire-waist cuts with flowing fabrics that skim your new curves.

Don’t forget the accessories!Chunky gem necklaces, strappy heels and a cool clutch will all be the perfect accent for your big night. You might as well enjoy the high heels while you can still manage to walk in them!

Classic, polished style: Maternity fashion tips

November 22, 2008

If your pre-pregnancy style is described as polished, you can continue your crisp and refined looks throughout your pregnancy and here’s how.

Looking as polished as Angelina Jolie can be as easy as wearing a monochromatic color, such as all-black. The same blazer that is worn with the pants suits can be paired with jeans tucked into black boots for a casual, yet crip maternity look.

Look for dresses and blouses with clean lines and tie-backs to keep you looking pulled together and fresh. A trench coat jacket is a great maternity addition for the classy, polished mom-to-be.

Polished moms-to-be will love the crips looks of Anne Taylor maternity, MimiMaternity.com and Isabella Oliver.com.
